Polymer Modified Bitumen

Starmac Polymer Modified Bitumen

Starmac Polymer Modified Bitumen

This invention relates to the process for the preparation of a polymer and rubber based modified binder which is useful for the construction of roads catering to heavy traffic and also for the formation of airfields and surfacing, besides its use as binder for stress absorbing membrane (SAM) and stress absorbing membrane interlayer (SAMI) for sealing of cracks, preventive maintenance of flexible pavement and delaying reflective cracking. Starmac Polymer Modified Bitumen performs better than normal Bitumen in high rain fall area and in situation where the aggregates are prone to stripping.

Starmac Polymer Modified Bitumen

ADVANTAGES

  • Improves resistance in cracking resulting in stronger and more durable overlays even in extreme climatic conditions.
  • Reduces deformation on the roads even at temperatures of 50-70 degrees C.
  • Polymer and Rubber based modified binder extend life of pavement by 50-70% compared to conventional bitumen.
  • PMB act as a multigrade bitumen and are economical when life cycle cost is taken into consideration.

STARMAC POLYMER MODIFIED BITUMEN - 40

Starmac Polymer Modified Bitumen 40 isn't just ideally suited for hot climates, but also satisfies the rising demands due to heavy vehicle and traffic volumes on today's roads and runways. Starmac Polymer Modified Bitumen is manufactured with a specially blended feed, making the binder homogenous and storage stable. It enhances the key properties of asphalt mixes, i.e. deformation resistance and fatigue life.

SPECIFICATIONS

Penetration at 250 C 30-50
Elastic Recovery of half thread, % (min) 70
Separation, Difference in softening point, C (Max) 3
Setting Time 20 to 50 mins

STARMAC POLYMER MODIFIED BITUMEN - 70

Starmac Polymer Modified Bitumen 70 isn't just ideally suited for moderate climates, but also satisfies the rising demands due to heavy vehicle and traffic volumes on today's roads and runways. Starmac Polymer Modified Bitumen is manufactured with a specially blended feed, making the binder homogenous and storage stable. It enhances the key properties of asphalt mixes, i.e. deformation resistance and fatigue life.
